BACKGROUND

HALAMAN ORGANIK was founded by the couple of Soeparwan Soeleman and Donor Rahayu on October 09, 2010. The Founders are also the founders of FAM Organic, the Ecopreneurship company which was founded in July 2009. The first step was to design, set up and operate organic farm in Parongpong, West Bandung District, followed by marketing and distribution to leading supermarkest in Bandung and leading Restaurants in Bandung and Jakarta. Based on the knowledge and experiences gained in establishing and operating the farm, and beside the fact that people want to have better organic produce in term of chemical content, Soeparwan and Donor replicated and adapted the farm to their house in Jl. Cilandak (Atas) No.5 Sarijadi Raya Bandung. They started building organic garden at backyard in July 2010. Soeparwan & Donor believe that Organic Home Gardening gives a lot of benefits for human life and environment. The healthy soils produce healthy crops that promote the healthiness of animals, people and environment. People who have chance to taste Organic Home Garden produce testified that the taste is better than organic produce that they are used to buy at supermarket.

The success story of Organic Home Gardening was then shared to public thru facebook page named Organic Home Gardening. We launched the page on September 2010 and received a lot of positive response from page visitors, which make us even more enthusiasm to improve our HALAMAN ORGANIK and share what we did to our facebook fans.

Sharing thru facebook network was not enough to start the organic garden correctly. We then launched the Organic Home Gardening Workshop and ran our first workshop on October 9, 2010. This a significant milestone to bring people to have better care on familiy & environment healthiness. We run the workshop at least once a month untill now.

As time goes on, the community was formed unofficially from facebook page fans and those who took the workshop. Understand that the community is growing, which needs regular activities, we founded official organization named HALAMAN ORGANIK, the urban green & healthy community with contributions from Halaman Organik lovers as the embryo of commitee. The launching was held in Jakarta during Organic, Green & Healthy Expo event one year after the first workshop, October 9, 2011. The launching was witnessed by Organic Community of Indonesia (Komunitas Organik Indonesia) and Aliansi Organis Indonesia.

Now, we are here to deliver our contribution to people and government to make GREEN & HEALTHY life and environment.
